Its an observation at Jonkershoek in particular, why do you ask? Have you had a different experience at Jonkershoek?

Just stirring the pot. When last I rode Jonkershoek it was two weeks before the tragic happening. Great trails in an awesome town.

No worries then. I was intrigued about the notion that these two groups may not be getting along at Jonkershoek.

I'm liking this Jogger already!

he's actually a lapsed adventure racer, so he's spend enough time on bikes too (although now he currently only does trail running)

I've heard reports that there were some MTBers who did fiddle with the route markers, from someone who was sweeping the event. Removed route markers, stuck in their bars and helmets, changed direction markers, which were then changed back to the right way only to be re-changed again. Beer was also involved.

Pictures exist, I'm told.

There was also organiser-based route confusion, just in case ppl were blaming this solely on MTBers .

The easiest thing to do would be to publish the photos to bring the culprits to book. Until I actually see the photos I will stick with the Organizer getting his markings wrong.

I was at Jonkers yesterday - on my bike nogal. In my opinion the running route was not brilliantly marked and there were almost no marshalls. The signage was tiny and hard to see from a distance.

Suspect the organizers are looking for a scapegoat as some of the runners have claimed already.

I guess as a runner you can see smaller sign and stop to check a route a little more easily.

The bigger issue for me is how the race was organized. Runners were making their way up the upper canaries to find the route - we attempted to help them but were also in the dark as to where the race route actually went. They moved out the way for us and all was amicable there and lower down where we encountered heaps more runners coming down parts of the DH  line and black route.
