Joe Low Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 What is wrong with the Union Buildings. Surely they must have the facilities to host parliament. F@**en mense wat net wil geld mors........maak my hoogs die MOER in! If they used existing buildings there would be no need for a tender.
Blackbeard Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 But on the flip side my property value should increase!Be careful what you wish for. I live next to the Speaker of Parliament and I will gladly contribute to her relocation costs.
River Rat Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Be careful what you wish for. I live next to the Speaker of Parliament and I will gladly contribute to her relocation costs. If it happened I would sell in a heart beat after all my current training ground would be lost and if i got your neighbor that would be the neighborhood too. Hey, perhaps I could move into her house.
Hennie VR Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 If they used existing buildings there would be no need for a tender. I doubt they have a hall big enough to host all the people? Have not been there in years though. I'm sure they have enough holding cells for opposition parties that disrupt parliament
bertusras Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The connection to the petition is the fact that we have lost Fountains, Voortrekker Monument and Groenkloof due to the inability of council to deal with crime and now they are about give away the one area that we can still utilize for parliament. If I was a conspiracy theorist I could make a case here. But on the flip side my property value should increase! Right, gotcha. Sorry for the bluntness!
River Rat Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Right, gotcha. Sorry for the bluntness! No worries.

Hey, perhaps I could move into her house.Right next to the Table Mountain trails . Good luck with Fort Klapperkop.
JeffK Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Guess my one KOM on Klapperkop will be safe for longer than I thought
Joeboy69 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Could also improve safety in Groenkloof and fountains as an unintended consequence
Heel Drop Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 ek sal n ruilverplasing doen met die parlement - hulle kom hiernatoe en ek move soontoe
CogitoErgoSum Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 The logic and rationale of the uneducated masses (that includes all parties and alliances in parliament) that attempt to lead this dark african country of ours fails to amaze me. Dimwits. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
River Rat Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Could also improve safety in Groenkloof and fountains as an unintended consequenceI've thought about this but considering the fact that the fountains area is also being considered for development we could find that we lose more than we gain. Either way we have to use the meeting with Council to make sure that our concerns and needs are taken into account.
kosmonooit Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 They might then use this as an excuse to close the adjacent parks/reserve in the name of security (and a excuse to 'develop'), property developers have no moral scruples! and will butter these key players and decision makers bread more than adequately. What is the reality is there is generally, and specifically in public service, no vision of the future, ie what about open public spaces for our children and our children's children. Its mostly about short term gain, what's in it for me and my mates and those who 'look after' me (as the former head of ANC IT and now current chairperson of DD once made clear to me) what deals can I make with public assets that is going to 'empower' me and my cohorts.
Mr. G Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I heard a very good suggestion this morning, to rather relocate parliament to Carnival City!
Mojoman Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 They should just move parliament to Inkandla....problem solved.
kosmonooit Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Here's what I am talking about ... “We are unashamed by our transformation agenda. The fund is for black players and no one else so that we are able to entrench their participation in the area," said Ramokgopa. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/fund-for-black-property-developers-only-ramokgopa-20160421
