Hi everyone

 

Im looking at all the videos of the stages of the Joberg2c ride...it looks awesome. ..but....at 44 years of age....am i nuts to even contemplate ride in it next year...what levels of fitness would one need ie...training programs and what nutrition would you recommend.

not at all, a couple of months 3-6 and you can cruise it at your pace and have a jol, its nice to have a year to plan train , get to know your partner. easily doable. go for it, make it a year project and you will build it up in your mind and enjoy it even more,

this year we getting the updates daily and we kicking our asses for not doing it

They dont try and kill you at j2c. Its an awesome ride

My 1 st J2C was in 2011 and my 2nd was 2014 - age 53 and 56

Plus/minus 10 hours per week training

Nutrition at the race? - More food than you can handle. I actually put on weight during the event. 

Enjoyment factor - huge

 

We have more than 40 multiday events under our belt so we have a little experience

Ha ha...thanks for all the comments. ...i watch the highlights of the Joberg2c thats currently on...it just makes me wanna get out and cycle the race. ..gteat motivator to do it...maby with a years training it can be done !! Hope to see all of you at the start next years event !

It's an exquisite ride, it's a great reason to train, the people along the route take very good care of you and it's extremely well organised.
