So it seems they did not get enough team entries this year so the teams just rolling with the amateur open.

Two weeks to go, good weekend of suffering in Knysna in preparation!

All planned race dynamics for the solo guys out the door then but I guess there's some positives and negatives to draw from this... Hoping they'll manage the logistics i.t.o KOM points etc.  Generally more user friendly at the Jock than what we've experienced at TOGH.

Out of curiosity, how does your TT work? Team format as per TOGH or individual? Haven't seen any details on this.

Enjoy the last bit of training, I rate TOGH tougher than Jock but it all depends on who rocks up on the day.

For those that have done this before what are the chances my riding partner will be able to change his seeding at registration?

He's in DL and I'm in AL. Wouldnt mind dropping to B to join him there but ideally we dont want to start in the last bunch

It looks like ITT and the combine the times. I enjoy being able to shout at my team mates during a TT now I will just have to talk to myself.

It will be strange having 3 or 4 teams (we don't know how many or who the teams are for the event) racing with solo guys. It may frustrate a few solo guys as if a team mate gets into a break the chance of his team mates doing any work to close it down is slim to none. (Although at TOGH Klyde did chase down all his team mates in the breaks :/ )

Exactly what I was thinking, solo tactics will be influenced a lot.  Nevertheless we'll make the best of it and enjoy the racing.  See you guys there.

At the registration on Friday I think your chances will be far less than rather contacting them now.

He has tried an unfortunately has not won. Registration appears to be our last and only hope.

Am guessing his seeding does not qualify him for an upgrade to an higher seeding time... and don't see why you would expect any preferential treatment at registration when already contacting them you have been advised no

I'm a little annoyed I've done 3 ASG events since August last year. I'm in CL, my friend has done 1, I beat her at this race, she's in BL. It's because my average across the 3 is higher than her seeding on the 1. *grumpy*

I'm sure it's tricky to formulate a seeding algorithm but I'm sure if I was trying do one I might take into account number of races into it...

Seeding is the usual black-art.....

Probably a bit challenging for ASG, at the moment. I've been hounding them to change their Facebook page. It's titled Jock Cycle Classique, and often refers only to Jock Tour info. I was sent an email saying congrats on entering the Tour and here's your itinerary with the time trial details etc....em, I'm doing the Classique okes!

Why not get your mate to drop back to your group, safe in the knowledge that you'll both be ahead of me!?

I have an entry I'm looking to sell - sadly can't make it due to work travels.

All I need to do is write a letter and I'll provide a copy of ID for safety sakes, easy. I've asked the organisers.

Yes, I got the same email. I got a bit of a fright initially.

We have very different riding styles, I'm a slower starter but a lot fitter than her, do it doesn't matter too much, we won't be riding together but it would have been nice to have a chance to pass her later, when my fitness kicked in. although she climbs like a mountain goat, so it was probably wishful thinking on my part...

I'm a Jock-virgin, so clearly not basing the following on experience, but I have a feeling one's normal race pattern maybe a little upset by the terrain? Anywho, it'll be an experience, I'm sure.......

also a newbie. I'm just going to conserve energy for Long Tom. I'm interested to see how I cope with the stops. Normally stopping isn't good for me. I'm also not a very good climber... not exactly sure what I was thinking entering it! hehehe but I'm kind of getting excited for it now.
