I will be there, I did the first in 2015, so doing the 10th year, chilling and racing for fun....... to collect the tshirt 😁

2024 would be the tenth but I guess Covid intervened.

IIRC 2016 the swim was cancelled except for the pro’s. 2015 the swim was a challenge too for most.

Durban is a great venue for ironman I reckon. Is the water ok these days?

Fliek on prime called beyond limits.

ordinary folks ( like us) getting into Ironman. Not a great movie by any stretch but it does appeal to me and my similar journey back in the day.

Any suggestions or recommendations for free (preferred) or paid training programmes for olympic distance triathlons?

Of done a couple of tris, but I want to commit to a bot more structure with this one.

I was hoping that Garmin/Firstbeat's new adaptive tri coach will be a good start, but it feels like it's oriented to those who want to "finish" an event, rather than "perform". That was my general experience with their running-coach as well.

So, any ideas?

Is it just me or is the general chit chat on the hub very quiet wrt triathlon lately?

Not much happening locally, maybe if there are few doing Mossel Bay.  Both IMWC done and dusted, 70.3WC next week, that should be fun with 1750m of climbing on the bike leg. I just hope my legs turn up. lol

It is not only triathlon, bikehub is no longer a chat place as it is focused on buying/selling.  Even the cycling threads, if you look closely it is mostly a few diehards that keep the chat going and are regulars.

Majority, just pop in now and again, myself included, just see what is going on and comment occasionally.

Edit: I spend more time on the Slowtwitch forum with regard to Tri related chit chat
