gurns Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 I have had the sleeved 2XU Trisuit for a couple of years now, and it seems a quality piece of kit. It seems to have shrunk in the stomach area though ! IceCreamMan, Fisan and EddieV 3

Orca apparel is good quality ,but to each his own as the most important part is comfort. What works for one person does not always work for the other.
Fisan Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 I think the biggest issue is that I left this to the last minute. The tri is on the weekend and somehow there are no tri shops in or close to Cape Town CBD?

And close to the CBD.

Heina13 Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 Enjoy CC. Also in Cape Town CBD. About R1000 cheaper than Ciovota and of a very good qaulity. Have done a full IM and about 4 70.3s in one of theirs, with no issues. Fisan 1
Rudi Pollard Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 I am looking for the best solution to mount a bottle cage between my tri bars. Does anyone have any suggestions which is available locally? Tririg recently launched this bridge plate which looks very neat and will be solid, but is also quite expensive for what is is - https://tririg.com/collections/hydration-1/products/universal-bta-adapter-plate

JM Rides Bikes Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 @Rudi Pollard how does this look? Will this just be a spacer between arm rests and bar mount? Essentially a functional washer? Don’t want you falling off because of this. #signindemnityformhere Temporarily threaded bolts into plastic. Will add brass threaded inserts. (PS it’s still a work in progress.)
Rudi Pollard Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 It goes underneath the tri cups and then the cups fastens on top of it yes with normal bolts. JM Rides Bikes 1
IceCreamMan Posted March 30, 2025 Posted March 30, 2025 (edited) Facebook tells me it’s exactly 10 years to the day I did my first Ironman down in PE. Feels like yesterday. Was an incredible journey for me and caused me to realise anything is possible. Couch to Ironman in 18 months. I dug so deep that day, still remember hobbling down the back section in the dark by the university feet bleeding from wearing wrong socks. But, I had the tattoo booked in j bay for the Tuesday and no farking way was I not going to finish. 2015 was the 2 x 90 km loop with a fair amount of climb and the wind was mostly against us. But I digress… Best wishes to all the folks doing it as a write this, following online. and we want write ups so us lazy buggers can live it vicariously. IceCreamMan Posted March 30, 2025 Posted March 30, 2025 Winning man at 7:45 …incredible. Humans are just incredible. 10 years ago the pros were taking 8:15 or so. one of the folks I am following is a lil slower than expected, looks like the wind may be a factor. and less crowds than previous years. Wonder why? gurns and _David_ 2

Wonder why? Wind was hectic here yesterday for the race. 35km/hr at least. The swim was challenging with a big chop from the wind and the outgoing tide having a big current. On the bike, from coming into town and all the way out to the turn around was a shifting headwind. It was very difficult handling on the bike, especially if in the extensions. Legs and body core were finished by the time it came to the run, you could see many suffering on the run, myself included. One of the hardest Ironmans I have done ChrisF, _David_, IceCreamMan and 1 other 4
IceCreamMan Posted March 31, 2025 Posted March 31, 2025 Looking at results seems much less folks doing it too?
