Wonder how rife it is amongst age groupers-one can speculate but this piece of work stole the recognition from another athlete and they give him a 4 year ban?-I say lifetime bans for dopers.

I agree that knowingly enhancing your racing performance by illegal means, whatever they may be, is wrong and unfair. The case of (older) age group athletes that take PEDs for medical reasons are just as guilty but different from elite athletes that are purely chasing performance gains; if you need the meds fair enough take them but then don’t race pretending everything is normal.

Having said that, I know it would be hard for me to not race if I had to start taking medication that also improved performance. Which I guess is what got Froome into his latest pickle. Or not (comic sans).

Speaking of Froome, wonder why his rather subdued performance not due to political reasons....let another member win and come back next year.

WHat is he banned from? Just IM events?

As wheelsuck points out, cheating is probably more rife that we realize from intentionally drafting to course cutting to substance use etc.

Ironman will only have jurisdiction over IM events, not sure if the athletes name gets given to WADA (I presume it would), so he may well be banned from all events.

If you're taking testosterone for 'getting old' surely surely you shouldn't be racing competitively, and thinking you're legit.

Maybe I'm just jealous :whistling:  and obviously I don't know each persons actual story, but it just frustrates me when people use shady doctors notes to legitimatize poor morals. As opposed to people who have an actual medical issue, perhaps that line though is getting more and more greyed.

In other news Renault have launched a new car called the Kona.

They're launching it with a special edition based on Marvel comics' Iron Man character.

So its the Ironman Kona....

Come on..

That actually looks pretty sweet.  But probably won't be available in SA.

Agree, it caught my eye as well now. The "normal" Kona is not available in SA, right?
