Burry.

I know it's definitely not possible, but it was damn exciting watching one of our okies really duking it out at XC races. Go watch the London olympics again was one helluva race and he played his part after THAT start.

Djamolodine Abdujaparov - the most terrifying nine syllables in the history of cycling.  LOL!

Elbows out and all over the road!!

Bernard Hinault - I think he could trouble today's peleton. Tough as teak

Alan van Heerden - I think he had the right stuff for a great international career - the right attitude

For me I would like to have seen more of Merckx racing. He was at the end of his career when I started racing as a 13 year old. I never got to see him in his prime.

1. Eddy Merckx

2. Sean Yates. For me one of the tough guys.

3. Marco Pantani. Taken too soon.

4. Robert Millar. On a good day totally unstoppable.

So many, Gilberto Simoni, Jan Ullrich, Robbie McEwen, Erik Zabel, Paolo Bettini, Mario Cipollini, Laurent Jalabert, Leontein Zijlaard, Jeannie Longo, so many more I cant think of now, these were great colorful characters of the sport, not the robotic crowd we see today.

Actually I wouldn't even mind Lance back.
