Does anyone know if there is a Microshift agent in SA still? I am in seeeeeerious need of Shimano 11 speed compatible bar end (TT) shifters for next weeks 70.3 race in Durban. I've ordered some Dura Ace shifters online from overseas as the local agent  had none but I'm starting to stress they wont arrive in time. I've looked and Microshift make a compatible version I'm willing to try. post-36400-0-24504200-1465297111_thumb.jpg

If you have a Shimano 11sp RD and you start running out of time, you can use a set of 9spd shifters as well, they have the same pull ratio. Only drawback is that you will only have 9 of your 11 indexed. Otherwise I have an old 8spd set that can be set to no indexing for the rear, so you can use it with any cluster.

I emailed Summit and this is their reply:

"I previously brought in Microshift but it never took off.

People here stick to the main brands.

For something bit more, like Shimano Deore 12spd, you get a tried and tested brand.

Warranty backup and spares are things to consider too.

Microshift is a great value brand."

It's a pity - maybe if enough people ask for it then they'll bring it in again. Otherwise you'll probably have to import it yourself.

Yeah, not really, their website says they have stock, the specials area says they have stock, but when you contact them and ask about a specific 10 speed advent x groupset going for dirt cheap, they dont know what you are talking about. They told me its not the advent x but the 9 speed acolyte groupset even though the app clearly states that its the advent x. They dont even go through the trouble of correcting their site.

Bike Addict stocks it now.

It comes off trade-in bikes OR they can order new for you. I emailed them about an Advent X upgrade kit last week. I have plain Advent 1x10 and absolutely love it.

My son's microshift 1x10 setup on his titan 20 inch bike is fantastic. Wide range with crisp quiet accurate shifting. And that's the bike that gets ridden the most often in this house.
