This is what you don't experience here and when you get there its all over. Steepness that goes on and on...

Eish. My fear of heights will definitely prevent me from entering. :P

Lau's winning bike. Interesting set up. 2x Di2 and Saint brakes. Tells you something about the trails - steep up and very steep down.

Don't want to speak on his behalf, but I chatted to Zietsman about this and he said that the steeper head angle on the Cube (onconventionally steep by today's enduro standards) helped them quite a bit on the insanely tight switchbacks.

As for the 2x11, the whole Cube team was on that and he said the stuff he rode out, they rode next to each other (he was in Nico Lau and Gregg Callaghan's pod) and the stuf he pushed up, they all pushed up, except for Lau, who grinded up everything.

So not really a definitive benefit on the gears it seems, since they still pedalled up at a decent click and by the sound of it seldom took a "spin it to win it" approach.

So a 29'er winning a lekker #ENDURO race .....  :whistling: ...time to get some big wheels :P

Last EWS in Ireland was won on wagon wheeled 140mm machine.  As was the Scottish Enduro event.

Same Cube.  Gregg Calaghan.
