Waterpoints should be called "vreet" points

You need to make sure your Vreet Tables include things that the Gluten Intolerant Vegans can also eat.

Yes they can! Some should try it

sorry, meant to say;

not everyone wants to live on a can of pilchards you know...  ;)

but I get what you say.

I don't chow at food / water tables, hell, I rarely stop at them but am known for making an exception. Red Bull stop after the floating bridge on Sani2C day 1 this year is a good example - food for the soul at that stop...

That is true, my wife tried my diet for a few days and told me I must be a little 'touched' in the head but it does work for me and it's now going on a year and a half ...

I think one needs to also think differently for stage races as in that case you're almost also eating for tomorrow! But not for the next WEEK

My problem is when I arrive at a table and it's loaded with tasty goodies, I have zero self control.  I must have everything.  Even the uncooked potatoes from water point #1 at the last TrailSeeker.

It's in my DNA.  I have no control over it.

Can they not also add some lekker slap tjips to the tables.

Wrapped in newspaper with too much salt and vinegar

Thanks

+1 on this. Maybe an assortment of deep fried cheese grillers/viennas/russians served on a stick for ease of vreeting. (with mustard on the side of course)

Lettuce leaves will wilt in the sun...

Jeez, I love all the assumptions that its the fat people that go for all the food at the water tables.  I wouldn't put myself in that bracket, but if there is a nicely stocked water table, then I will eat proper food anytime over energy bars.  Not just because it tastes better, but because it actually works better for me.  One of my favourite things on the latter stage of a race is an orange.  Don't know why, but it always makes me feel better.

At Berg and Bush I end up coming home with more energy bars than I go with (they give you some free ones).   The water tables are simply amazing.  Day 2 we even get ice cream !!!   All the fast guys are just missing out.

And some pulled pork sandwiches. Maybe some ribs.

Hi to all

If I pay money to enter a race I can eat and drink what ever I like if I want to kuier around a WP so be it

Part of my entry fee went towards that WP

There are some vetgatte like you call them that can ride faster then most skinny guys so they build up an appetite

I have seen some skinny blokes pack away as much or even more at WP then what some Fatties do

So stop blaming the fatties at least they doing something we Love and that is RIDING

At the one water table on this years J2C, they had the most unbelieveable lekker hot cheese grillers with mustard and other hot goodies to eat. I spent a bit more time there than necessary.

Part of my entry fee went towards that WP Oh, I thought that making sure you leave some for the others is part of how a society functions, guess I was wrong. This does follow our politocal leaders views, that we must take while we can stuff the rest, so I guess you are just following there example, therefore no wrong doing on your part.

There are some vetgatte like you call them that can ride faster then most some skinny guys so they build up an appetite Fixed. Yes, some heavier guys are super fast, but they arent the ones hanging around the tables scoffing, they are too busy riding their bikes fast. So no, they are not the same "fetties"

I have seen some skinny blokes pack away as much or even more at WP then what some Fatties do Again SOME do yes, but thats not the median. Lets not make generalisations based on a few fringe cases. Maths also states that they are skinny because they brun more than they take in. Froome and them eat 6000 - 7000 cals a day, but they climb mountains. There is a difference between refuelling and being greedy....

So stop blaming the fatties at least they doing something we Love and that is RIDING The skinny blokes like you call them love riding their bikes too, they just dont eat as much while doing so.

Now, the above is not a go at any person who is heavy, but rather at some bull statements that were made in that post.
