Who fixes road punctures? What are your techniques and tricks?

Discovered a new technique yesterday messing around with some new sealant. My LBS is selling this really cheap sealant (looks a bit like Stans actually). Gently squeezed 50 ml into a previously punctured road tube using a small syringe and plastic tube. The sealant goes in Presta valve without blocking it. Pump to 8 bar inside the tire and give it a spin. Voila, this morning the tire still at 8 bar.

What are your tricks to fix punctures and stop wasting old tubes?

I Just patch road tubes properly and Viola it works.

No rocket science - find hole, sand around area (larger than patch surface), apply glue, let it dry (dont miss this part), apply patch, allow to set (under weight if possible).

I ride 9 to 10 bar  and have no issues.

Those instant patches are not for road tubes.  I've had to walk home before.  Old school fix as per Dick for myself.  New tube for a customer (it's a time cost thing).

I let them pile up, sand with a small disc fitted to my Dremel, glue, let stand, firmly tap on the patch with a rubber mallet, chalk and use.

self adhesive patches don't last on a road tube

if you carry a spare tube and puncture twice they will get you home but the tube with a adhesive patch on will never be reliable at 100 + psi

rather rip it off and do the old fashioned clean ,sand ,tube of glue and patch method.

quality of the tubes also affects how well you can patch them some work others don't work so well with patches

If you don't have patches then cut up an old tube into patches and sand and glue on as with any other patch.

I fix with the self adhesive patches but they do not last forever.  Normally if a tube has had multiple punctures then I bin it in any way.

Ironically since I started cycling in Germany (15 months ago) I have not had one single puncture (touch wood).

Sand glue patch. Carry a spare tube and puncture kit. If I puncture twice on a ride I shake my fist to the sky and question wether I should get new rubber. Fresh tyres don't puncture easily.
