Next round is upon us - who's it gonna be this weekend

Troy, Gwinn, Danny, Greg?

Is this the time for Tahnee or Myriam or Manon to break Rachel's streak?

its been a long 3 weeks

best track of the season IMO.

Rode this section 19 years ago - and it is still just as fierce. If not more so now that its more open than in 1997.

Aww yiss! Can't wait!

Gwin for the win! With Minnaar and Thirion rounding out the podium.

For the ladies, I'm reluctantly going with Rachel Semenya for the top step and Seagrave and Hannah second and third.

Agreed - i think 50-01 party time is taking too much of his training time.

I doubt Hart can win at MSA - i wouldnt say its his type of track.

Id say its between Mr Minn, Gwin, and maybe Troy. Doubt Loic will be back to full pace yet.

would you say lenzerheide was his kind of track though?

He's put in major effort this year and its paying off...surprised the hell out of me I must say

Ya i agree - he has been working hard this year - but Lenzerheide I think suits him better than MSA.

MSA last year was a 4:22 winning time (rain aided) ...

Compared with Lenzerheide at 3:05 now when Danny won.

Thats an extra minute and a bit that You have to be strong for to race that track and win.

To compare - that with something we can fathom - PMB in 2014 was a 3:59 win time by Gwin - on a smooth flat track.

MSA is rougher than a bears arse practically the whole way. ....  and you have to ride for an extra 23 seconds on top of PMB. ... Mere mortals like us would need to take at lease 4 hand-unclenching breaks on the way down.

So for someone like Danny who is brutally fast in the steep flowy stuff - but is a little pocket rocket .... to hold speed may be a downfall ...  Personally I would put him to 5 but not on the top step .... but maybe he will surprise me.

Feels like an age since the last race. At least we have had the EWS in between and the coverage of that, which has been pretty good of late.

I am also with Greg or Gwin ftw but I hope Hart is up there. My fantasy DH team is looking better but I need Greg, Danny, Sick Mick and Williamson to do well here...

just some general google earth stats ...

MSA - track guess-tamate =  2.6km, 600m elevation loss, avg grade 23%.

Lenzerheide guess = 1.7km, 450m elev, avg grade 31%

So you have an extra km of racing to deal with at MSA but not as much sustained gradient ... but 600m vertical is LOTS. Thats why its called a big boys track!
