Hi all, looking to get a reasonably priced bike rack, we will be packing 2 full size 29ers, 1 x 24inch (soon up to 24inch) and one kids mini bike (16inch). I have a double cab and was looking into that Thule bin cover for my double cab triton but then I lose my load space, is the bolt fast 4 carrier any good? Thule is just too expensive for me now. Thanks guys.

Ive had the buzzrack and a thule.

Both where 4 bike towball varieties.

I used the buzzrack twice. I will pay someone R100 to come take that piece of rubbish off my hands.

Sorry to say it but nothing comes close to the thule in terms of being the best.

Yes, they are expensive. But if one considers the value of the bikes attached to it...its a great investment.

As for the saris, i dont have any experience there so cant help.

Good to know this Wayne, haven't had experience with Buzz Rack before, but came across them on the net and saw their prices are very good.

Yeah, they are pretty cheap

That was my original interest in them.

When i moved here i sold my Thule before leaving. I bought the buzzrack on arrival.

I used it twice and did not like it at all.

I ended up buying my thule back from the guy i sold it to and asking Hayley Anne to put it in her shipping container here.

Maybe i didnt like the buzzrack because i had the thule before.

The thule is refined and sturdy. It protects the bikes without using straps and stuff.

My only criticism of the thule is that it sucks if you want to just load one bike. Its pretty heavy.

But when i load four bikes that are worth more then my mother in laws car....i want to know they are safe and sound.

Id really like to learn more about the saris range though.

Woops...forgot to add... if i was the op i would save up for the thule. Looking at the sizes of those bikes, its for a growing family

A good quality rack like that will last YEARS if looked after and is certainly a great investment in long term cycling.

I  use a 4 bike buzzrack platform rack and have no issues with it - bit tricky to align 4 bikes so they don't touch anywhere (no different to any other 3 or 4 bike platform rack) - but once the order is set up it works fine - my only difficulty is that my garage is about 18 inches too short to pack the rack with the car in it's normal garage.

For 1 bike moving I just put the bike in the back of my suv - and I also have a 2 bike Thule hang on for the kids bikes - but I don't use that for my bikes.

Bought a "cheap" rack to save money and REGRETTED it from day 1.

Bought a thule (towbar; 3 bike) and love it.

The Thule stuff WORKS; the other brands FRUSTRATE.

"bit tricky" = missing paint and Garmin attachments on various bikes.
