Hairy, you have become a nit picker since you "upgraded" eh? Nah, always been critical bitchy

All I can say to your 'picking is it all depends on the price which we don't know yet. My bet is if they are doing them en masse the price will be better than Morewoods of old. They say they have various builds anyway so wah! That is basically what I was saying, the spec alludes to a more budget build, and if you are going budget I would imagine you would be aiming at mass sales to generate the required income/profit.

But really ... no internal dropper option :P

It's not about you, boet.

It's about staying in touch with the market offerings. Fewer and fewer manufacturers are bringing out new droppers with external routing.

Offering that "future proofs" a frame for the buyer.

I think Morewood bikes isn't Aware of the new Standards ;-)

Their new Fully is also using a 142x12 axle....

Ok cool, you can use your existing wheels for this Frame. But let's be honest, Boost is a must have These days, it's not new anymore and all new wheelsets use it too...

is Boost really a 'Must have'?

My Hope 10mm bolt through 135mm works an absolute treat, never ever had an issue.

I also do not potter around on the beginner slopes. Was at Ezelduro this weekend on a hardtail and went faster than a fair few people when it counted.

I also only have 23mm internal rims.... shock! How on earth do you ride on such ancient tech?!!!

The point is, if you read the story, price point on the build. 142 boost is still exclusive and expensive. 142 is an older standard but still not QR. So they will get a good price on axels/hubs etc without having to forego newer standards completely.

All this mocking and cocks out for the boys jeering is annoying. They are trying to bring you a bike at a decent price that still does the job.

If you are actually good enough to notice, never mind utilize the benefits of the boost, you are not their target market at this exact point in time.

I am angry that Spez don't make steel road bikes anymore. But by understanding how a company has looked at where it can best make a significant return in the market and accepting that is pretty important.

Giant Trance started as a QR rear for this exact reason and then offered an 'upgrade' for 142x12 drop outs down the line.

I for one am excited about seeing what they can come up with and what sort of price points they hit and which components they use.

It is always interesting to see where the guys are going in terms of their target demographic and what new innovations they think will be worth including.

Good luck Morewood!

I wasn't saying 142x12 etc. is bad tech but if you design new bikes, targeting the 2017 (or even 2018) market why don't you use not up to date tech? As you said it's cheaper, ok.

Already for the 2016 model year many new models used boost and they are getting even more in 2017, same with metric shocks and internal cable routing.

I hope you all understand what i mean. Maby that's their USP?

Saw a tweet a while ago from Brian Lopes and it was his first ride on a bike with Boost and he was like this is a load of crap and he will just stick with 142 x 12. As the saying goes different strokes for different okes.
