LBS - Wash and lube... post yours!

So recently I've been lazy (and very busy) so I've dropped my dirt ride into a couple of different shops and got a fair spread costs for a wash and a lube.

I was wondering what the costs are and where. Please post your LBS and the cost so we all have something to go on (try to refrain from the 'wash it yourself lazy boy' posts and keep it a decent resource).

I usually don't pay for it 99% of the time at my LBS, my bikes have never gone anywhere else so they don't charge me for the 10ml of Lube and 50ml of Degreaser

I usually give the butler 20 bucks.

Kewl! I'll drop my filthy beast around for your man and we can have a G&T on the veranda while we wait!

You have to wash your bike ?

My butler disposes of each used one and has a crisp new one ready for the next ride.

In earlier days when I had to re-use a bike I can't recall being charged for a wash separately, I suppose that it is built into whatever mechanical service they performed.

Out of interest sake do you prefer your new bike to be steamed or pressed? I found a pressed frame tends to have sharp edges which in turn cause some discomfort...

I have never been charged for a bikewash as it's part of the deal on the services (only time my bike goes in), however at Buffelsdrift bikepark a wash is part of the entry fee so ends up costing me only R20.00 tip

I usually do it myself but it can take a while taking it apart and putting it back together again. ;)

I don't think I ever took it away for a wash. Whenever bike shops wash it, its because its there for some other reason. I'll hose and wipe after rides and give a lekker skrop once a month or so. I have thought about organizing a bike wash though. You know. As a fund raiser for Tokai.

For R175.00 I'll buy 12 beers and wash my bike myself.

It takes around 20 minutes to complete the job.

P.S I'll wash your bike for R175.00 less 10% discount for cash.
