Thanx for the feedback

Lines up with my roadie brain ????

What Raydek said, although 3 weeks ago after the one storm I rode at Meerendal. The fertile vineyard soil had washed onto the trail and it turned to cement on the bike. I took it in straight away to prevent a grand or two's damage. But even the guys at the bike shop said it was ridiculously difficult to clean! But the trails were just fine! :)

It also depends on the condition of the trail. Bennets red in Jonkers after rain when it is properly maintained rides like roller coaster. In its current state you'll definitely damage the trail after 10mm of rain.

I absolutly enjoyed every minute riding that trails. I was on a high for days afterwards. You guys are really spoilt and dont even realize how spoilt. :)

We do, and nobody is complaining about the lack of trails. Just that they are nowhere NEAR the grading they say they are and have little variety with little to no technical skill required or room to develop one's technical skill.

you can please some of the people some of the time, but blah blah blah....

Or you could please most of the people all of the time with a few improvements

So rode the new Trail Z at Hoogekraal yesterday. It really should not have a blue grading. People are seriously going to overstate their own  ability if they ride that and think it is blue.

Now...that being said, it is hell of a fun :)

But there's not a single technical section on it apart from one 30cm high rocky drop off...Well, on the decents anyway.

I won't say the effort was wasted, but there surely was potential there to have multiple lines, especially in the first descent after the A-frame to have some tech stuff  :(

The climbs are pretty tough, especially with the trail not having been ridden in yet and being slightly damp...Some of the uphill switchbacks are STEEP and tight making them a real challenge on 4 day tired legs  :cursing:

Save up all the money you would have spent fixing your bike and body had the trails been as gnarly as you want them to be and then book a trip to the Alps or Whistler and remember your GoPro.

you are probably right. Not sure what the cost implications are of building lots of different lines are though.

Anyway, it is what it is, so I'll be there this weekend having a jol and smiling all the way.

Dude...we're not asking for a DH line.

Some bloody variety would be nice.

As for the Alps...already on the cards for next year ;)

Cost implications are FAR less than building a dedicated additional trail ;)

Exactly my sentiments. I can definitely see the capacity for fun, but it's not a blue trail.

Hahaha the uphill has more rocks on it that the downhill..But still far fewer than the Y-Bike kiddies track... :whistling:

You 'maniacs' don't understand the mentality of a lot of us old farts. I have taken a fair numbers of adult beginners for their first rides who are trembling so much they wouldn't do that kids section until about their third ride. And it took me about 3 months to ride Cobra without putting my feet down, admittedly at the back end of summer when it was very rough.
