Don't waste your time with biltong (unless there is rugby at Kings Park). Biltong is not fuel for bike racing. Carbs it is.

Train on LCHF, race on carbs.

Now pay me millions in royalties!

Some training can be LC but not all training. I'm sure the guys from Cadence published loads of info on this recently. At high intensity the preferred fuel is carbs irrespective of diet.

Friends don't let friends race on biltong

Damn I never watch what I eat, well first the second only before I stuff my face. My wife is disciplined but I love my food to much ????

Ah - But surely carbs last 10 mins and then you crash?

So I am thinking jelly babies, maybe energade gummies, zaams with peanut butter etc

No biltong then

I am going to look like I have piles will all the food in my back

LOL you are green.... if carbs only last 10 mins we would all be in trouble!

Every hour you need a mouth full of food... not a meal... not a course.... one big bite... so that means half a Hammer Bar or something similar.

Stop taking all of this sweet crap and rather take a sandwich cut into 4 pieces with peanut butter and honey.

Ride the race slowly and enjoy it. You will suffer and you will hate yourself for entering but that comes with being unfit and not having the experience.

Maybe consider doing the 60km?

Finish quick enough that you don't need to chow on the bike

Then grab some Afro's chicken on the promenade beachfront

Afro's is where I will be....
