'Kaze Pete Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Also this: "Sometimes, if the pace is slow, a local rider may be allowed to ride ahead to greet his family at the roadside: what he mustn't do, is use that "leave of absence" to try to win the stage." Saw it yesterday? or day before...
SL7 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Nonsense. Nobody was going to wait for Uran if he were to change bikes. They saw the win and they were going to go for it.

shaper Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Nonsense. Nobody was going to wait for Uran if he were to change bikes. They saw the win and they were going to go for it.Uran is not in yellow... perhaps read the unwritten rules first
nochain Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Nonsense. Nobody was going to wait for Uran if he were to change bikes. They saw the win and they were going to go for it.lots of opinions on the wait for yellow "rule"..In my opinion if you already on the attack and it happens there is room for it..BUT when you sit in the group more than happy being paced by the leaders teammates and he picks up his hand to show everybody he has a problem and you go at the same moment you are a f#$%ING idiot!!!!
'Kaze Pete Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 of course he is out. Rules.Démare, Renshaw, Trentin, J.Sagan, Delage, Konovalovas & Guarnieri all outside time limit...
nochain Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 That counter attack from Froome is the reason I love this guy!!!!Guys attack him from all angles and just when they think he is on the ropes..They have a small gap...He comes back and hits them HARD!!That must be his signature move.
Patchelicious Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 lots of opinions on the wait for yellow "rule"..In my opinion if you already on the attack and it happens there is room for it..BUT when you sit in the group more than happy being paced by the leaders teammates and he picks up his hand to show everybody he has a problem and you go at the same moment you are a f#$%ING idiot!!!!Exactly! What Aru did was try to exploit Froome having a mechanical. Nobody tried to exploit Porte or Martins crash.
nochain Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Porte and Thomas must be the 2 unluckiest riders in the peloton..so much talent going to waste!!!
'Kaze Pete Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Today was brutal and FDJs gamble to resque Demare backfired spectacularly! 5 DNFs7 OTLs
Patchelicious Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Porte and Thomas must be the 2 unluckiest riders in the peloton..so much talent going to waste!!!And seem like nice enough guys.... Bad things happening to good people
nochain Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 And seem like nice enough guys.... Bad things happening to good people That's for sure!!I really hope they both end up winning at least 1 grand tour!
Patchelicious Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 So when someone YELLOW has a mechanical it's not cool to attack? But when you PINK stop to take a **** the group doesn't wait either. Load of bollocks this can't attack crap. Not "somebody", the race leader. When you earn the race leaders jersey in a race, you earn these graces. Nobody says they MUST wait, but it's currently the accepted norm.
CASSIE1975 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Today was brutal and FDJs gamble to resque Demare backfired spectacularly!brutal.jpg 5 DNFs7 OTLs Quite a big chunk of TDF 2017 out the first week Riders left this year = 181...in total 17 riders out the first 9 days that's almost 2 riders average per day so far...eish.

And they are yet to ride the flat stages with the really bad crosswinds closer to the coast, where crashes can easily take 10 or more riders out. Look out for Stage 11 for Westerly winds from the coast.
