It was Ritchies fault??????? You obviously missed the blatant elbow in the face that he got from Romain Bardet. I am surprised RB never got a DQ for that dangerous move.

OKay didnt see that and i havent seen a video replay of it.

I was wondering why he shot off to the left all of a sudden.

Do you have a replay of it anywhere ?

Dunno how he did it after his derailleur got taken out in a crash

53/11

Yoh! And he takes the win

Quite special

i think his derailleur got hit by Martin's bike in the crash. It was a brave mechanic to try and get it sorted out. I imagined a lot of mangled fingers.

Anyone know what gears Froomy was riding yesterday?

ITV4 commentators said he had a 38 osymetric (smallest can go as he only rides Orings) and 30 on the rear

“X-rays confirmed a non-displaced right clavicle fracture and a non-displaced right acetabulum fracture,” said BMC’s chief medical officer Dr. Max Testa. “Richie also suffered extensive superficial abrasions involving the right side of his body. At this stage, the injuries will not require surgery. The plan is to re-evaluate Richie tomorrow morning and confirm that he is stable enough to be transferred home.”

It seems that the downs are the new place to attack.

...........................

Or am i missing something.....

TBH, a dangerous route, a dangerous downhill and all of that is as dangerous as the riders make it. Out of 190 riders, only about 5 came short on the downhill, the guys going beyond their limits. Same with sprints and corners, know your limits.

If you dont have the skills to follow on the downhills, well its part of racing, so better your skills to be able to keep up. Froome did this, he sucked on downhills, so he worked on it, a lot, and now the others are left behind.

To me its just as spectacular as the racing uphill and an added bonus is you cannot dope or cheat to become a better bike handler, that only comes with practice.

Neutralizing a downhill because one or two guys are jittery is really taking a lot out of the race and in a Tour with minimal uphill chances to win time, they should use their skills even more.

It has finally become a race where a well rounded rider wins, not just the TTer or the climber, because they have one place where they can eliminate all competition. The result is also that guys that normally would loose places because the tour was built for one specific rider, is now getting a chance, Bardet is a good example.

Good points you make there

Aru says he did not see Froome mechanical. Dude should be pulled from the race, if you cannot see a 6ft tall rider decked out in full yellow raise his hand us you ride under his shoulder you are a hazard to those around you and should remove yourself from riding in the peleton.

I am not sure if his team mates care for him either. Fulgsang, pretty much dropped Aru in the final pull to the line where Aru could have done with some time bonus's.

What? Pulled from the race? Why must he be pulled from the race? No disrespect to anyone but they racing bikes, there is no rule that says you cannot attack at any given time. Yes, unwritten of sorts but that is applied when it suites those involved. Everyone has at some stage broken that and its not uncommon.

In general what I find hard to understand is how someones judgement is based on how much they do or don't like a rider. Always look at things neutral with all the facts as if you don't have a tender to like or dislike a rider.

Im not defending Aru or condoning what he may of done, I am merely saying what he did was well with in the rules of racing bikes. You cannot throw someone out for racing his bike.

Remember when someone was having a pooh during the Giro.....Wasnt a outcry to throw people out then.

Now I know I am probably just sounding like a fanboy (as I have been accused before - yes I like Froome - deal with it). BUT Yesterday was properly exciting and I don't think anyone can say that there was a lack of passion in Froome's racing - clinical in the way there was very few mistakes maybe (except for thinking an Astana rider would not attack - Nibali 2015 tour Version 2.0 - textbook)

The GC race is very interesting considering the lack of form and crashes now from most of the favourites. Just wish I had trusted my gut and picked Bardet instead of Quitana
