My first MTB ride back in 2012, my mates were all "Yeah, everyone rides down it on their first spruit ride". So i did. K***ed myself proper back then. Now it's actually not so bad, just don't stop at the top, keep rolling from the back and easy down.

Yip, I stopped at the top and that was it...

Is that actually a rock drop or just  a slightly steeper bit of trail? I Don't think that wouid qualify in Cape Town. Sorry :-)

the rock drop is a must for me when riding the spruit! Adds a bit more excitement to the ride, I try do as many features as possible, drops, jumps and berms to make it as fun as possible and also improve my skills when riding the spruit.

Always take a look before going up there - seen a couple of dodgy looking characters sitting at the top in the bushes a couple of times lately  - did ask the local CSS lads to have an inspection the second time.

Is this one 15:30 into the video?

Man watching this really makes me want to get out and ride #Mondaysmustfall.

Amazing how flat you make that drop off look.....I will have to go try it.

It's only flat:

  • In videos when you're not riding it
  • If you're from cape town.

That drop off once you are familiar can be done at speed.

It's the lintel river crossing that I fear though

Had a friend brake a hip and femur there

Ouch! To be honest, I get days where I rather stop and walk that lintel river crossing.
