Long Wheel Base Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Looks like JD is 100m ahead of HV now. This chick is pretty damn cool. Almost as cool as Sagz.
Patchelicious Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Yes he has a Ritchey and also a KTM road bikeCool, then that is him. Rode with him for a while on lap 2 at 947, seemed like a really cool guy. Go GARTH! ????
Gen Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 It's not a man's prize - It's overall winner - first across the line... and there is a first woman across the line prize too... if it happens to be the same person then they should get both. Not the stupidity of the JUMA this year when a youth got less than the person he beat...So if there is overall prize money is there then a first male over the line prize money too, as there is a first ladies prize?
Long Wheel Base Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I just noticed. without having to read 20pages, what happened. See JD is in front now. GSomeone mentioned earlier that he had hand issues. Pity someone here doesn't know him personally(?) and we could get some inside info. Must have been pretty serious for the guy to pull out after such a mammoth effort.
shaper Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Cool, then that is him. Rode with him for a while on lap 2 at 947, seemed like a really cool guy. Go GARTH! Yep that him !!
TrailWarrior Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Sad to see Vaughn scratch from the race! He led an incredible onslaught! .... and this is pure example, the race is never over until the fat lady sings! The Munga is there for the taking for any of the top guys and ladies right up there. JD! she is the Bomb! Incredible!
V12man Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 So if there is overall prize money is there then a first male over the line prize money too, as there is a first ladies prize? There is no first man prize
Gen Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 There is no first man prizeYou see I have a problem with that.. if there is a overall winner and ladies prize winner then there should be a first man across the line prize too [emoji12] Or skip all the sub category prizes and just have a overall winner prize[emoji6]
Fat Boab Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 The rules on the Munga website suggest the following: 1. There are 3 race categories, men, women and development. (No mention that I can find of an overall winner). 2. For prize money to be awarded there needs to be at least 3 entries in the category. 3. 1st prize in a category is R40k; second R10k; third R5k. Maybe these rules were modified and not updated on the website, but if not, then I think it clarifies the R35k rider/woman double-dipping confusion?

(according to what you have stated there)[emoji53]
rvdm1 Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 If I go to Sbu's history it looks like he has been riding in circles?

R5k for development doesn't even cover the entry.

Fat Boab Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Prize money is grossly skewed. R5k for development doesn't even cover the entry. Go read the rules.....development category gets the same prize money as the other categories ie 1st R40k, 2nd R10k and 3rd R5k, for each category (development included).
