I am sure there s a lot of debate going on with the bigger outfits as to whether Maluti or Le Tape takes preference.

Yip, we have a 5/6 split between Maluti and this event, with many members have yet to reply.

Previously we were looking to field 2 teams for Maluti (one to race, another to ride socially).

Perfect, Gen

Looking good

HR & Timer is important, for sure

Speed is not important at this stage, but building endurance is.

More ideas:

Also try cadence to ensure your most optimal / efficient rpm as legs get weary if one is not using one's most efficient cadence (we all have a unique number)

Maybe also try a timer / sound for when you should either drink or feed

I have a beep that goes off every 25 mins, for example.

Thx for the feeding tip and cadence . yes I must do that. I am very bad when it comes to things like feeding.. hubby has to always remind me lol.. he is like a beep.[emoji4]

Less than 300 entries, so far.

Mmm interesting.. the fewer entries the bigger chance of me coming last..

Come on people enter[emoji6]..asseblief.

Yeah, having a beep as reminder is great

Because, once you have hunger or thirst sensations and then only feed, you are flirting with

I did the same route now as I did on Wednesdays.. hey it's quite challenging keeping that HR down lol was focusing so much on the HR the headwind didn't even bug me[emoji23] [emoji23] .

Here's what I could make of the route, using the video:

edit: updated map with possible route

Yea that is the route. I haven't personally ridden it but know a few have. Seriously doubt the climbing is only 1630m.

Weather depending I might do a course recky this Sunday but will be a long day in the saddle, 215km loop from home with 3000m ascent. At least I'll have really kicked off my base training with 200km ride on back to back weekends.

Edit: Oh also heard this morning on out coffee ride that entries will be limited to 10 000.

There is one positive of the race route and that's that the last 30km's are 95% downhill.

[emoji23]

Main objective.. not to be too buggered to enjoy the last 30km

I will. I know the first and last quarter like the back of my hand it's just the middle that needs some investigation. ????

Many thx..

That year that I whiped myself at the monster, Rouxie did a almost step by step race preview for me.. it was awesome I knew exactly where I was when on race day. obviously he didn't think I would literally bring home some of the monster.. but I always prefer knowing exactly what to expect.[emoji4] I know I am doff that way..[emoji85]

To.this day.. one of the best experiences I have had on the bike.. (besides for my own stupidity and the stitches)
