The ONLY advantage a Grand Tour has over The Spring Classics is that it is generally only 21 hours until we can watch the next race. This wait until Wednesday for the Scheldeprijs and then Sunday for the BIG DADDY of them all makes for a very frustrating week.

Enjoyed yesterdays race a lot, QS really did a great job at controlling the race.

Tommeke is just a fckn machine!

I've never really liked Gilbert, but give credit where it's due, he had an amazing day/week.

I'd go further. When he was with BMC I disliked him. I never thought him joining Quick Step would change my view of him. Clearly my prejudices have no rational reason behind them.

I wonder if we will see a Classics team as strong as Quick Step again if Zdenek Bakala does decide he's had enough.

Gilbert is another that is sheer fluidity in motion. Such a classy rider and so easy to watch. Hope he will be at his best for RVV.

Called it, sort of.

PhilGil is not prioritizing the RvV

Doing Three Panne is far from optimal peaking strategy

The Steppers will focus on Stybar, Terpstra and Boonen for results on the weekend.

A win isn't to bad for a guy who you thought wouldn't necessarily feature for his team. :whistling:

So is nice to be wrong hey 'Dale?

Yip

That's the beauty of racing

He was riding for Boonen acting as bait on the day

It all came together

Love it

I tend to believe the maxim that the race decides. We had so many things happen that were sort of unplanned for or not in the tactical book for the day and yet we had one of the best RVV's ever. In fact I thought it was as entertaining as last year's PR! Which was the best race of last season. We got a worthy winner and a very good podium.

As for tactics: QS recovered well when Boonen was ruled out by the mechanical and gave Gilbert good support once they knew he was the man to gun for the win. I am sure they'll be going all out to ensure a win for Boonen at PR!
