Jonkershoek: R500 for annual membership from the date of permit.  Not sure how much the family membership is, but they have one.

Jonkershoek also gives you access to MTO trails in Grabouw, making it a good value proposition.

Moving from  Paarl to Durbanville and decided to join Tygerberg MTB, just thought I would put it out there that it was such an absolute pleasure working with them smooth, easy and well organised. Very impressed and looking forward to my riding there.

Just thought I'd chuck that out there...something positive amidst all the complaints/accidents/fights on the Hub

Welcome in Durbanville!

In addition to the Tygerberg permit, I reckon it could be worth your while to get the Bottelary permit as well (www.bottelaryconservancy.co.za)

Going to explore Hawequa forest tomorrow with some mates.

Cool have fun! The roads are a little worn out now cause of the trucks carting the the logs down, so be safe and keep an eye out for the traffic

do the copies of ID's have to be certi

do the copies of ID's have to be certified?

yes and the their applications signed,Here's all the info for Activity permit

Daily MtBike permit rate......R75 for the day

Daily permits available 7 days of the week..Tokai ,Kirstenbosch ,Silvermine and (city )Tourist Bureau ..cnr Berg and Castle

Note the Activity permit is 12 months from your date of purchase...so you can go any time  and have the benefit of a full 12 months

The Activity permit fees have increased to R500 PP/PA....but there is a alternative option

So Although the Primary member costs R500 PP you can have up to 3 Additional members @ (R215.00)pp

(they don't have to be family members)

# So if you get 3 other riders as additional members they only pay R215pp

... split/share the total cost by 4 and you can get your permit for R286.25 PP/PA

You don't have to all go in as a group one person can do all the paperwork

The main member obviously takes his ID...and the other 3 if they are physically going to the offices.

1. So you will require 2x passport sized photos...

2. a certified copy of their ID's

3. the form below completed and signed.

Ok you can ride from Signal hill to Silvermine ...But looking at average day riding .

The price of the permit equates to 4 rides at daily rate of R75

Less than 12 Craft beers or a meal for 2 at the Spur

Tokai trail ride

newlands forest ride

Deer path

Silvermine............and its paid for

Add 30 bucks for the year and you can add the Vlakkenberg loop to your Newlands ride.

Although it states that it needs to be certified, mine wasn't and I still got the permits.

Alternatively you can just take the original ID's with and let them make copies of it.

TMNP:

R 500 (first person)

R 215 per subsequent applicant up to a max of 3 additional

If 1 person by himself: R 500

If 2 people: R 357.50 pp

If 3 people: R 305.00 pp

If 4 people: R 286.25 pp

4 members need not be related, and the activity permits are full permits in their own rights (no need to ride together)

I'm keen. I'll be able to go in and get it done if anyone interested can drop me all required docs.

Anyone know if the inverse is possible? Have more than 7 people that are interested. Can I buy on behalf of them? or does it strictly have to be at least one person in the.... ("flamesuit-on") four ball in person :nuke:  :nuke:  :nuke:  :D  :D  :D

No, none of them I used were certified.

odd that.

When I chatted to the staff at Tokai they were adamant that they needed to be certified.

May just be safer to get them certified to avoid a runaround.
