Patch, not having read the entire thread...

Whats the primary use going to be?

I run a Barzo in the front and a Siguaro on the back on my Stage and a Goma in the front and a Siguaro in th rear on my OneTwenty.

Wife uses Barzo front and rear, no complaints,

passed weekend I dropped the pressure in the Barzo from 1.6bar to 1.3-1.4 and liked how it felt, they stable and not rolling around and nice grip.

PS: remember the entire Vitori line is actually the old GEAX line.

Ok, going to give the Barzo a try.

Will report back on broken clavicles if needed.

+1 for the Barzo.

I run Ibex on the front of both my bikes, with a Barzo on the back of my hardtail (because I use it as my long ride bike) and the Barzo doesn't pull that many punches when compared to the Ibex on the back of my trail Bike.

I now have Barzo front / Siguaro rear and it is surprisingly good, a decent mix for SA conditions and the need to still get up the hill.

I took off a pair of 2.35 Hans Damphs that were absolutely epic. They made my Pyga feel like a Mad Max War Rig, you felt completely confident to smash anything. The harder, the more insane, the better. But one does get knee disorders trying to pedal those buggers up long hills.

It's a easier roller. less rolling resistance, but got enough grip still.

front is where you want major grip, that defines your direction, line through a corner, the back follows.

Whats the thinking with the saguaro on the rear? Why not the barzo on the rear?

Haven't tried the Ralph/Ron, had a Ralph/Ralph which was pretty washy on the front.

Currently got Ralph/Barzo (which I used for the muddy Sani2C Trail this year) and was pretty happy. Will be going Saguro/Barzo when the rear wears out. On CWC sales you pick the Vittorias up for around R500.

Haven't tested many tyres though, but I had a Spez fast track and ground control on the SS which lasted 1 ride on the Spruit.

After reading this thread (and also what my mate is using on his bike) I ordered a Saguaro for the back and a Barzo for the front from CWC (on special for R499 at the moment) -    now to find an extra set of 29" wheels to fit these bad boys to...LOL (currently have XT hub set of wheels with Maxxis Crossmarks on them, which I really like - would be easier to have an extra set of wheels to change depending on the terrain)

I have the Sugaro rear and barzo front combo , been riding like that for the past year and 1/2 ,

havent had any issues , great confidence in the corners and going downhill like a maniac ,

done over 7000km on my current set without a puncture .

Wont go for any other tires ever ( or untill they stop making them )
