I have the Sugaro rear and barzo front combo , been riding like that for the past year and 1/2 ,

havent had any issues , great confidence in the corners and going downhill like a maniac ,

done over 7000km on my current set without a puncture .

Wont go for any other tires ever ( or untill they stop making them )

my 2c

7000km? Really?

My back wheel don't see 800.

Feedback:

After my initial and only ride on the Barzos, I can say that they seem to have been a good choice.

Thanks for the feedback....but you need to ride more so you can give us your in-depth, heart felt honest opinion...  :whistling:  :D

I would, but I'm not in mood to be told by 587 Hubbers why my opinion is wrong.

So it's almost time for me to slap a new front on my bike, and I've narrowed it down to the following options:

Onza Ibex 29x2.4 - R650 (EVOBikes)

Spez Ground Control GRID 29x2.25 - R660 (but no stock available in Pretoria or Centurion)

Vittoria Barzo TNT 29x2.25 - R550 (CWC)

Maxxis Ardent LUST 29x2.25 -R380 (CWC)

Now the price of the Maxxis seems stupidly good, and I'd prefer to buy from CWC as I need other things and would get free shipping.

Patch, I promise I won't tell you that your opinion is wrong  :whistling:

Of those, the Ibex without a doubt.

I am a Conti fan ;-)

Continental Protection  Mountain King 2.4 up front

Continental Protection  X-King 2.4 at the back

Big yes but at 100 Kg i can live with that and avoid puncture risk.

2 Berg and bushes , 2 Route 66 and Sani2c with out a puncture

Done 3600Km on mountain king and did like for like swap of worn X-king at 3200km

Did have a rusty nail pierce a worn x-king in a urban shortcut , but cannot fault Tyre for that

Saving R 100 vs extra grip and confidence in the front end....

No contest, IMO.

Buckled and went for the Ibex, and some extras to get to free shipping

Having ridden  the Saguaro rear and barzo front combo for over 3 years  now and i have to say its the best all round performing combo iv'e ridden That's over quite a varied terrain sand ,gravel ,really soft sand and mud.

1 They last although tar still chews them faster.

2 The Barzo front has a nice controlled feel.

3 They float over soft sand ...after a 3 km stretch of soft sand recently my mate rushed out to replace his stock spez tyres (yes we were both running the same tyre pressure)

4 Punctures..did a trail recently where at one point i must have had hundreds of thorns in front and rear tyres no problem.

5 The price being run by the big store in my opinion makes them the best buy for buck value..
