News is starting to come in of a fire at Koeberg ? Anyone confirm ?

 

Resources are very thin, they are going to have to get additional resources from other municipalities.

wind direction totally changed.

 

south easter and the fire has moved onto Louresnford.

 

Patch if the smoke gets bad, pls let me know. They can come stay here, not Erinvale standards - but its clean.................. I think.

 

I am going out now again after supper to the nature reserve, as the Friends of the NR are all a bit worried. But the fire is a long way away.

 

In the wee hrs FiL and I will go NHW patrol again. Lots of lurkers around looking for empty houses of helpers.

Not much happening my end. Yesterday I was trying to help my Neighbour who is well connected with the fire departments. I haven't heard from him today and in Bizweni and Boskloof the sky was clear. I was spending the day doing some DIY and only when I went for a run this afternoon did I notice how bad it looks on the Laurensford side.

Sjoe, the amount of cars heading to Lourensford and the Nature Reserve to go look at the fire is staggering.

All is quite on our home front, other than an orange glow on the mountains that is.

Those firefighters must be haggard by now.

The fire is essentially in small patches - but regarded as high risk because the wind is back for the next few days.

 

The fire is being blown up the Heldeberg mtn sort of through the saddle, so now it is all vegetation as no real infrastructure is at at stake,

 

The traffic is a NIGHTMARE, the NHW radio is crazy and people are getting road rage cause they want to see and they all want the national geographic award winning photo.

 

Look like it is another long night managing spectators. On my way out.

Patch they have asked for spotters to cover erinvale, NR and upper hilcrest.

just back, the smoke is making things look worse than they are.

 

info flowing from various sources resulted in madness. people are so desperate to help. sometimes the best help is no help.

 

lourensford being a well run HUGE farm, looked ok, but things got tight. the fire came close to the hostel and sawmill.

 

Mr Versus socks posted the video. The wind is now here for the next week.
