I Built a new (or is it old?) commuter

I Recently fitted a child seat on my second bike that I used to commute. I Dont want to remove the seat every time I want to jump on the bike to go to the cafe or where ever. So I decided to leave it on the bike permanently and build a new commuter from a halve stripped frame that i've had for ages and some parts I salvaged and scraped together. Only ZAR I had to spend was R60 for for two new deraileur cables. If you were riding bikes in the mid 90's you'll probebly recognise the frame :whistling:

Wow Nishiki. I used to have one of those. It was my very first "full" size mtb when I was a lightie.

It unfortunately got stolen in the middle of the day from my folks garden. I can't remember how old I was but I remember I was sobbing my eyes out. My Dad bought me a cignal after that which I still got. Just a pity it's way too small.

My mother still has a blue one of those... unridden in years I suspect- considering she is nearly 80, but it's HER bike... and will hang around till she passes - so maybe another 20 years...

Thanks for all the cool comments   I Commute to my workshop and back home most of the time (and if weather permits). Its 7km's down to the shop and in the afternoons I take a couple of detours to stretch it to 15km's or so. Did about 80k's since I started work last Tuesday. This bike is twenty years old and still rides like a dream ! I Like the strange looks I get when cruising thru town
