But having looked at the add I would seriously consider this a flag for a dodgy add. 1) Its posted by a Lyle who from what I can see only has had 1 advert, its the first thing I look at when buying online. (I am not a OLX guru so that might be one active) 2) If it is a sale of the whole bike then the of the add at Rockshock is very odd. 3) Pricing is way out at R10 000 which is very odd. 4) And probably least red "flagish" is that photo. But most people keep thier bikes in a storeroom of sorts, (I have no idea why, I like to keep mine in the living room so I can look at them). My question is when all these flags are raised, in a town hundreds of kms away how do we get someone to investigate it further? If it is legitimate then good luck with the sale to Lyle. But as the cycling community we really should care, if there is a EASY market for stolen second hand bikes the risks of riding them will be even higher. Quite a few times over the years stolen bikes or scams have been flagged on here just like this. He saw something that he considered a little dodgy and at least had a shot at doing something about it. Mads Posted January 6, 2017 Share Someone I know was contacted in Paarl and a similar bike was offered for R3000.00 If your bike was stolen I can put you in contact with that person. He actually sent a photo to me which I posted on all the local Whats app groups. No one there was missing a bike.
