My commute came to a complete halt at the moment.  Wife has problems with her shoulder.  Has been with her to doctors the past two days.  Working from home again today as well.  just as well as they are expecting 50-150mm if rain today. Might commute on Friday.  Hoping next week will be better.

Woke up this morning at 05:20 and heard the rain. Decided i didn't feel like getting wet, so tried to organise a lift. SO packed all my cycling stuff away and got dressed. By 05:45 no word from the lift and the rain had stopped. So hauled all the kit out again and got undressed. Best decision of the day. Ride was awesome. No rain - just the cold wind in my hair. :)

I noticed there was no movement this week towards the 3000. Hope she gets sorted out soon and that it's nothing serious x

Ha Ha.  Had a similar thing two Fridays ago.  There were predictions of rain but leaking at the weather radar at 05:00 in the morning, all things looked that I would get to work dry with rain hitting just after that and predictions for the afternoon were good.  At 6:15 I quickly took the dogs out and noticed some very threatening clouds.  Still though if I pull my finger and could leave  dry and just miss the rain. Just as I got into the house it started pouring and it looked like it would last for too long.  So I got out of the cycling kit and into work clothes and head for the bus stop (in front of my house).  As I got out, all clear.  Clouds are gone and roads are wet.  Back in get in cycling kit and on the MTB we go.

Thanks.  I hope so too.  All checked out ok and just seems like a massive spasm.  Starting physio today.

easy enough .. just have to get a new free hub thingie majig ... until then it is hipster fixie for me :P

so the chain exploded on me whilst riding fixie and had to take the bus home on Friday and then on the whole of Monday again to get a new SS freehub fitted, Monday night fitted the chain to find out the chain ring is toast, rummage through the spares bin and found a spare chainring (39t vs the 42t I was running) so had to shorten chain and fit the chain ring again......still, being able to ride as of yesterday again, Priceless!

I also recently fitted a R35.00 Ass Saver type rear mudguard .... got it's first real test this morning on the wet roads and I am thoroughly impressed by just how well it works considering how narrow it is. Highly recommended, even if you just keep it in your commuter bag for those unexpected rainy days.

Photo of the mudguard.

Tried to find it on the sportsmans warehouse site, but nada.

Nothing worse than a wet ass which is second only to wet toes/feet.

Broken collar bone has stopped my commuting, although a really kind work friend is lifting me every day now. Only thing is she gets to work at 06:00, the last 3 weeks have been the most productive of my life.

My wife should never see testimonies like these ...  :whistling:
