Does anyone perhaps know where I can find a training program for K2C? I've done a fair bit of 100km+ road races, but this will be my first MTB one. Not looking to race, just want to finish without too much pain. Thanks.

Everybody hurts. Looooong climbs, all rideable. I have tried a training program before...

Nargggh. Did not help much. Just spend your time riding a lot. Include long hills.

My 3rd this year. During the hard yards I always tell myself. ... You are

#@%^&* insane. However, I keep coming back every year..... (pretty much for the same reason).

It is also the only MTB race I do, the rest is road.

You can do it on a road bike these days. They graded the only two difficultish sections.

Ou Wapad up and down used to be where you could make up time on an MTB. Now a gravel grinder is fine, in fact a road bike with 25C's should also do it now.

If there are any clubs in Kwazulu Natal that are planning to go down to do the K2C, and have a seat to spare, I am looking for a lift to go and do the race. It is no use going on my own and flying is too expensive. It can't hurt to ask around on the hub.
