With all due respect.......it reads like another car crash waiting to happen.

You are going to maintain this for a couple of days (if that) then eat everything is sight because you'll be hungry.

You need to eat more, don't go hungry but improve the quality of your diet. Loads of salads and vegetables. No need to elaborate you know which are the healthy ones.

Buy a scale, weigh yourself, set targets, exercise (even if its walking). You're not the only one that is >50, busy, stressed etc. Some of us also like sugar, chocolate, meat, beer and more.

Good luck, nothing will change until you decide its time for change.

just because one psych was crap, don't discount the entire pursuit. Oftentimes it's about finding the right psych for you. They can help TREMENDOUSLY, if you find the right one.

Ruacana, Protea, Rundu, Calueque - suddenly all the names coming back.

Agree with isetech - took a while to adjust to civvy street again.

Seems like a lifetime ago now.

You might be throwing the baby out with the bath water here. PTSD counselling, however effective, or not, and getting to the bottom of why you eat in the manner you do, are 2 differing objectives. Factor in the probably significant passage of time, and it's highly likely you'd respond to the right counsellor in a different way from the past. Anyway, you'd have to want to seek this help....

It really is as 'simple' as this, for 9999 out of 10000 of us. It's worth re-reading and re-reading this....and then re-reading it again and again.

Similar story here. Clocked into 1 SAI Jan 1983 as a 17yr old. Loaded onto a train bound for Lohatla in Nov not having any idea where we were going. Dec we landed in Grootfontein. From there it was onto that long tar road up to Oshivelo/61 Meg and finally across the border into Angola. Think we got back to SA in March 1984.

everything you have said here is 100% correct.

I've witnessed a very good mate of mine go through the process of finding the right doc for him. Took 3 horrible years, several different approaches to treatment and a multitude of different drugs and treatment protocols to determine the right fit and approach to his care. "Just suck it up" is not a valid response to emotional and psychological trauma.
