Not advice but if your cycling friends says to you they haven't being on the b8ke for months or mumble a date when he last was on the bike and then kick your @ss properly.... i really hate that even if they are telling the truth!!!

I was convinced to enter the Nissan Trailseeker full marathon at Van Gaalens as my first MTB race with practically Zero technical offroad skills (I was racing A bunch on the road at the time and had my first MTB for about 3 weeks).

"Ag, you're fit man. Its not technical, you will be fine..."

I came third last in 6 point something hours I think. I will never forget that feeling of my bubble bursting when I realised I had to go up the other (greek church) side of the valley too.

Anything that comes out of the mouth of a Cycle Lab sales person...

Further to this, a couple of years ago I was looking for some inner tubes at CL. Had an amusing 5 mins where the sales dude and another random customer tried very hard to get me to convert to tubeless. Eventually I revealed I was a roadie....exit 2 red-faced dudes.
