Are the Bryton's compatible with Garmin mounts?

No. I have a barfly mount on my mountain bike and while the bryton does "fit" there's no nice reassuring click when you put it in. So you are always worried the gps is going to go flying. The mounts are ever so slightly different as far as i can tell.

I would Just spring the extra R325 for the real thing from bryton direct. They'll deliver in 2 days and it's much nicer than the stem mount goodie that comes in the box.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish these gps makers would adopt the Garmin standard like everyone who makes action cams has adopted the GoPro standard.

I don't believe you link Vitality to your Bryton account.

At some point, people were using tools like Taparik to sync their workouts from a device not supported by Vitality, to an account that is; but I do not know if that still works.

I would guess so, I'm using a Cannondale out-front mount and it works [emoji817]%.

So where do one buy these Bryton's if the Bryton's website is out of stock??

Just google search for it, I can't remember who but I've seen a few places on the www who stock them.

i dont have one but my mate does and its excellent value for money. some of the features better than garmin in my view.

How much more does one really want or need?

Just phoned them now, the Bryton.co.za people, they will have stock of the 330 in January and will update the website to reflect this.

Try bike-addict, they were the one I was thinking about.

Received my 330 and was messing about with some settings etc over the weekend.

I am quite impressed so far:

The unit switches on and is ready to start recording rather quickly.

The unit paired up with no hassle to my Garmin GSC10 cadence meter (ANT+).

It also paired up easily with my old Garmin heart rate strap (ANT+) from my old Forerunner 305.

The pairing up with Bluetooth to my phone was effortless and the syncing after a ride was fast.

Once i linked the unit up to my wifi it downloaded all the latest firmware updates.

The unit does fit onto a garmin mount, but it needed some wiggling and does not give that satisfying "click" when it is in place. It feels secure enough in place though but i think i will just get the Bryton out front mount anyway as with the Bryton supplied stem mount, the unit clicks solidly into place and isn't going anywhere.

The data fields are what kept me busy for 2 days already, there are just so many options. You can load up to 8 fields per page and still view the info easily enough. You can load 5 pages which you can flip through with a single button press while riding.

I have set up one basic profile for road: Speed, HR, Cadence, Distance, Ride time and a more detailed one for road: Speed, HR, Cadence, Distance, Ride time, Time, Temp, Alt Gain.

And one for Mtb: Speed, HR, Distance, Ride time, Time, Temp, Alt Gain.

And one for fun: Gradient, Downhill distance, Uphill distance (these two aren't on the list below for some reason).

I would be interested to hear from you what your data field setups are.

My "main" screen has

speed

distance

ride time

altitude gain

gradient

heading

Max speed

avg speed

I mostly watch distance, gradient, altitude & average speed.

My 2nd screen has my cadence measurements.

If as a Garmin Edge 820 user I may respond to that.  I have had the unit for 3 months now.  Also have a packet of info you can display (up to 10 per screen) I am still contemplating exactly what I want.  There are slight differences between the Road and the MTB as the one has a cadence sensor and the other not.

I will basically look at a profile for Commuting, Indoor Training, MTB training and RR training

I even used a generic out front mount from CWC on my second bike. There are two tabs on the mount that clicks the unit into place. I cut away a small bit of the broader end of the tabs(both tabs) and now it clicks into lock position easily and it is secure. I used a sharp blade type knife (think it is called an anti-cutter)
