My Q .I put an 11 speed Shimano cassette on a 10 speed hope hub without any problems .This was for a MTB wheel .How is this different from a road  wheel

Dishing.

Essentially the top gear on the mountie cassette is bolted to the 2nd gear, or is dished sufficiently to get closer to the wheel. Hey presto - 11sp cassette on the same base as a 10sp.

As mentioned earlier, last resort - 11spd mod.

I did this to my brand new Rapide wheelset so I could run an 11spd road cassette, also to a set of Easton EA70's and my own Campagnolo Eurus G3's. All 100% successful and going strong. Took about 1.8mm off each freehub.

All the best with your ordeals, and hope all goes well in the end.

All I want to know is: Who is this guy, and what is his story?

Guess I'll have to wait a bit...

have you considered starting a betting pool here? or is that against the rules?
