No, but I also don't think the hub is always the best place to try and resolve these issues.

Dont see it as place to resolve the issues, but rather place to engage with a large number of cyclists, LOTS of good info can gathered from the people here.

In that case I think they are being ignorant.

I have yet to see a survey land up in my inbox directly from them either.

Perhaps some sort of protest/disruption in the their beloved CTCT will get their attention......

that would be the place to have a very public mass disruption/sit down protest about all the brother cyclists we keep losing to motorists ....might even end up on tv .... :whistling:

come on patch organize.......

you guys really want reform on the roads, then the government is the only real institution that can make things happen, and enforce these regulation.

PPA is taking up this fight, so best wishes to them..........where is Cycling SA when it is time to get their hands dirty RE safer cycling ????

Umm the one day all the roads are closed and then the cyclists aren't going to use it? Also I highly doubt your could get more than 50 people to buy into the protest at the CTCT

How? That was the original question, that yet again nobody seems able to actually answer.

How are they taking up this fight?

This thread is NOT an attack on them, it's a plea for clarity.

Takes just one person to be noticed.

This was not a plea for protest. It was a statement to illustrate frustration. And besides if you don't agree, then don't like my tweets about it.

I don't do all the social media platforms all of the time.

Here's the team:

The first thing I would like to see is that when a cyclist passes away on our roads that someone from the safe cycling arm of the PPA actually engages with the various cycling communities about the incident and provides some feedback on what exactly the PPA is prepared to do regarding the incident for a start! As a cycling body they have a very clear vested interest in teh safety of all cyclists! They need to step up to this responsibility!

"In any crash involving pedestrians or cyclists, the motorist to be presumed guilty until proven innocent"

Absolute ridiculousness!

I think he meant that stronger charges are laid as standard, like in other countries.

Am I reading this correctly?

He joined the PPA specifically to boost the MTBing scene, when he was the founder of a MTB club?

"Robert Vogel

Chief Executive Officer

Robert joined the PPA Executive Committee in September 2013 to specifically focus on off-road cycling initiatives. He resigned from the committee in June 2015, and was appointed as PPA’s first CEO as of August 2015.

Robert is passionate about cycling and the safety of cyclists, both on-road and off-road. He started the Table Mountain Bikers group and is actively involved in the Table Mountain MTB Forum."

I think if they systematically go about erecting Warning / Caution signs on all the major routes used for training, it will help create an even better awareness of our presence on these routes.

A sign similar to this every Kilometer or so, will go a long way in creating the necessary awareness among the motorists.
