Tune hub failure

Good afternoon,

Today was supposed to be the first time I get on my bike after more than 2 months off the bike.

As I took my bike out of the garage to clean off the dust I noticed the rear wheel was buckled which seemed strange because I got the rear wheel built by a well known wheel builder not that long ago.

On closer inspection I noticed the hub flange broke off.

What should I do?

That's a nasty surprise.!

And from a very reputable hub brand.

Was the wheel built according to recommended spec.? (probably the first question you're likely to get from distributor)

Not common, but very possible, I have seen several brands of hub fail this way - like mentioned, it would generally propagate from a casting fault when made and not spoke tension...

Unlikely to be spoke tension. The rim would collapse before the hub cracks.  Most probably a fault in the hub casting.

have seen a similar failure with a tune hub where the hub split open for the freehub in the direction of the axle. hub was replaced by Tune.

I also doubt it was from spoke tension , rather a material fault , Do you know to whom I can speak that represents Tune in South Africa?

thanks
