Taking pics of your snake and enlarging it could be frowned on, even on Friday

Fake it till you make it, I always say.

The trick is to get to the point of no return, and then only spoil her night with the grand unveiling. Hopefully you manage to pull it through anyway.

So if the perspective has been skewed, why does the 25litre bucket that is even closer to the camera look like it will not be big enough for that snake.

Any snake that is going to fill a 25lit bucket is bloody big

On snakes SA group they reckon it's about 1m .. Still a big puffy

Although I agree the forced perspective does make it out to look bigger, I estimated it to be bigger than 1m, like at least 1.6m. If you look at the tail, it is touching the bucket, and if stretched out, would basically almost be touching the ground. Then the guy is holding the snake catcher up from his hip, at a slight upward angle, so the jaw of the catcher is probably at just below his chest. Then you still have about 20cm of snake hanging down towards it's head.

Beautiful snake, is that the road past Longhill?

Commonly used by fishermen  , taught my daughter this trick with her first bass

I looks like the road past Longhill.

Lovely stretch that. We used to run through there, up and over the jeep track on the mountain and come out on Bowker's Kop side again.

Amazing to see these snakes in the wild, really are beautiful but dangerous creatures, seen a few at my dads farm, once came across a baby one, apparently same toxicity of the venom even if they are babies, not to be messed with.

Babies are actually more dangerous as they do not have any control over how much venom they excrete in a bite - so all of it ends up in you. With a mature snake they can excrete smaller amounts - typically done when biting something in selfe defense as opossed to hunting. So you have more chance of surivivng the bite of an older snake than a baby.

I'm recalling this from some Discovery I've watched somewhere in my life, so I speak under correction...
