Rave - 11Karkloof Puts Sliver Lining onto L'Etape Debacle

Like many other hubbers that were conned by the L'Etape cancellation fiasco (brought to us by those charming folk at OCTAGONSA), we were saddled with the added cost of accommodation that had been paid.

Or so I thought.  We had booked and paid to stay at 11Karkloof.  Their cancellation policy was clear - we did not stand to recover our payment due to the short notice.  I inquired anyway, and Quinten (top chap) said he would try to resell our accommodation, and if successful, would refund us.  I thought he was just being polite.

I received an email from Quinten today, informing me that he HAD resold the 2 chalets which our group had booked, and would refund our full payment.

I would never have known if they had resold the bed nights.  What a mensch! So as far as I am concerned, I will only book with these guys for stays in the midlands, and strongly urge hubbers to support them.  This level of service and integrity deserves to be rewarded.

I'm afraid you've done yourself a disservice... you should of just taken the mtb along instead of your road bike and ridden the Karkloof trails - would knock the pants of any road ride you ever had planned  ;)

That's top form from 11Karkloof though - it's a special breed of person living in those parts

Ja man, I wanted to ride MTB, but the rest of the group are roadies, so I was going to be billy-no-mates staying in 2 chalets!   Which, now that i think about it actually would have been quite brilliant!  Blixem!
