I think I did about the same time, but I am still fat @88kg not sure if I can beat 3:00

I was wrong side of 100kg and did a 2.55 few years back.

We managed 2:44 from EL in 2015.

Please take note guys - some boffins with pens in their top pockets have calculated that if you start anything after VC (6h40), you WILL be stuck with shorter loop riders, but if you pace well you should still make sub-3 regardless of the slower riders.

I am not keen to risk falling at the moment at 45kmh in big springy bunches in VA yet, my clavicle has not yet fused and is full of holes. If I crash now, it will be big problems. Swartberg is more important to me.

As with R4V I will come join you guys on my MTB... Sub 3 on a MTB would be a lekker challenge and great Sberg100 training, and meeting some more of you guys is always a bonus!

Looks like it will be a training ride for another event then

I am actually using this as a final long training ride and test for Tour Durban, my thinking goes if I can do a 2h50 on this I might and it is a big might, get a sub 3 TD

Week after Emperors is two interval sessions and a tempo ride of 1h30 then tapering from wednesday

TD has quite a bit more climbing, and is longer so you need to put in a quicker time at Emperors to have some chance.

Although not a great comparison as I got sick after Emperors last year so my TD wasn't the best, but I did a 2:42 from EL for Emperors and then a 3:24 for TD.

My seeding is 33.30, last year I did 3:00 and some seconds. I did 2:48 at Fast one so I guess I'm hoping for a 2:45 - ish. My plan is to try start as close to the front of my bunch as I can and then stay there. That was my plan for Fast One and it worked out quite well. Not sure if it will work for this race or not.

The been sick might have quite a bit to do with it as I did 3h11 at Emperors last year and also 3h26 at TD. And I am 1000% sure it is not cause I am good at climbing.
