What are those bikes worth? R150 000?

Well it is an old training bike, old rims and old groupset.

Maybe R75K? Also, with all the KM he has done, probably a bit less.

Unless you paying for the "its Chris Froome's bike" viab

according to strava Froome was going 48km/h at the time

He closed his account, unless he has another sneaky account? His old one was skywalker or something like that?

That Oz character in the twitter feed is quite a douche. ..saying it's Froome's fault. .'cos he was riding on the road. ..

Says enough.................

Jokes aside, no one seems relieved that he is at least unhurt.......Does not matter whether you like him or not he is a top world cyclist and ambassador

The damage to that bike makes me want to cry...

Glad he is ok. Hope the driver is tracked down and is dealt with swiftly! Team Sky certainly have the resources to follow this one through.

Where was his following car? Or maybe it WAS the following car. Simon Cope driving perhaps.

Team Sky seem to do PR BS very well but the rest? Not so much. I ask again, where was the following Sky car.

"....followed me onto the pavement!"

Malicious intent for sure. Some really warped people around.

Glad he is OK.

snip the offensive love in bit

I can only wonder what was done to piss the motorist off. A motorist as a matter of course does not follow a cyclist onto the pavement.  No way this is a one sided affair.

A bit like his tweet to Roger Federer, I imagine.

Maybe he was doing this?

I thought you strongly say that no matter what the provocation, assaulting a cyclist with a car cyclist is a no no.

Don't ALL cyclist have the same rights that you so often demand? Or is it ok to victim blame if its Froome?

Unless he had just banged the dudes wife I think its pretty uncalled for running someone off the road.

It's disappointing to see that he wasn't using a rear light, which could've alerted the driver to his presence.

If it was the drivers intent to drive into him, as suggested, a lighthouse on his back would still not have been enough either.....................

Completely unacceptable. Even to this guy.

However, how often have you heard of a motorist mounting a pavement at 48kph to crash into a cyclist. Particularly a pavement with trees on it.

I'd love to hear the story preceding this incident, only for my entertainment. Not to justify assaulting a cyclist.

On the weekend you said the guy hit by the van was acting like a dwis (BMW 530d). The driver was provoked. But was also very, very wrong to do what he did. I argued it makes no difference what the rider did. I still hold that view.

This driver is wrong. No question, even if it is Froome. My personal prejudice has no bearing on safety.

Maybe the driver was a Sir fan or a Nairo fan and that was adequate provocation.

How many guys have been followed onto a pavement and driven into? I have not seen an incident like this for a very long time. Which piques my interest into the prelude.
