As for running both, there are very few configurations of the Pike that will allow this - only the 29" 120 and 140 as far as I can tell?

Well that would fall nicely into my lap as a 140mm 29 pike guy. Only thing is I'm not rich, 140, 29r guy and can't blow coin like I own a Spez... so Vorsprung it is!

We have stock if you want the one stop fitment.

And we've got Ramp Controls for when that itch does strike...

From their site

6. Does it work with MRP's Ramp Control cartridge?

Compatible configurations: Pike up to 150mm, Lyrik up to 160mm

Incompatible configurations: Pike at 160mm, Lyrik at 170mm or more. These configurations cause interference between the Luftkappe and the Ramp Control cartridge.

I quite l t idea of of AWK and the runt, they seem to do with sam thing. Basically creates 3 air chambers. 2 positive and a negative. With a floating piston between the to. The old Marzocchi air catridges worked the same way an it was brilliant. The Manitou IRT is the same concept.

I am fortunate enough to have both the MRP Ramp Control as well as recently installing the Luftkappe, as you can see by the video i just released.

The mods I have are quite different from one another.

The MRP effects mostly the final third of the fork stroke giving you bottom out resistance, the fork feels more linear completely open(because you dont use tokens) and you can set it up using LSC/Comp to firm up or make more plush on the trail.

When i ride my HD3 (with the MRP) i often adjust the settings depending on trail conditions, if i know the trail. It offers a bit more versatility because you can control the fork a little more out on the trail. You would need to find the good balance point with pressure & compression though because when you turn up LSC you affect the small bump as well.

The Luftkappe on the other hand offers big mid stroke support with a nice ramp up toward the end. I noticed small bump sensitivity because it changes the forks progression quite a bit and allows you to run much less LSC. Of course you can also setup and fine tune on trail but this option is very much fit and sort of forget.

The SKF Low Friction Seals also help giving better small bump.

If you are bananas about uour fork you could get both the MRP ramp control & the luftkappe, but you would just need to see if your fork is setup for it.

"It offers a bit more versatility because you can control the fork a little more out on the trail."

This is the thing I like about the MRP Ramp Control. You are able to adjust pretty much on the fly for the trails you're riding. I have a base setting I keep it on for the most part but find myself often changing as I'm riding if I feel it needs more or less ramp up, sensitivity etc...

Saying that I'm keen to do the Luftkappe mod to see what difference there is. Also gonna drop some of those slick SKF's in on the next service...
