Just a heads-up. Canyon are shipping to SA at 300US$. Added a bike from the Factory Outlet, went to checkout and BOOM... shipping added below the Bike Box...

It’s not in the official drop-down select, so make sure you have location services on and accept the cookies.

Happy days

Hi ,

Buying online from Canyon is a hassle to say the least. I've purchased two bikes from them in the last two months. Their bikes are great no denying, but customer service and their accounts department are USELESS to say the least. You'll make a payment via one of their preferred payment methods (I chose to do a BOP), and you will be left following up on a daily basis until you get a response from then which is very automated/generic. They don't actually answer what you ask most of the time.

If you were to order and pay this week expect delivery this time next month if you are lucky.

I can't say my experience has been good with them, and I'll go the local bike shop route for another brand next time round.

Until they are actually direct in SA you'll find difficulty buying from them. Also their lead times can be outrageous.

They've merely opened up a shipping option on their EU website to ship bikes to SA. They not actually direct here, so not sure where that comes from.

I'd hate to think of the support and lack of should you actually have an issue with a bike.

Cheers,

What happens if the bike arrives and the frame is damaged. Do you send it back for $300 and then they send it back to you for another $300! Or do they blame the courier?

Its a risk but many OEM's cover the return shipping or re-imburse.

They pack it in a special box so strong that it will take more that an accident to damage the bike.
