sias Posted August 25, 2017 Share Shocked to hear there are no boxes or water points / feeding stations after 180km. Oops. From 180km there are still 2 checkpoints (Bloedkoppe and Goanikontes) where you meet up with your supporters and 2½ waterpoints where you can get water and snacks. If you don't have a seconding team, you can try and arrange with other solo teams to take supplies to the other checkpoints and leave it at the check-in tables. It is not un-supported from 180km... Frank71 Posted November 8, 2017 Share One month to go and it is VERY quiet!Everyone on track with the training and preparations?Everything on track. I hope the authorities send a grader to fix up stage 2, especially Us Pass and 12 Apostles have some serious rain damage. Stage 3 is in a good condition (currently). Pulse Posted November 14, 2017 Share (!)I suppose I will need to carry a light as it may be needed if going to be later hey... Not to worry..... Are you doing Solo? If so, you will only see your support crew at CP3, so you will have to start with your lights Frank71
sias Posted November 14, 2017 Share If I plan to get to CP#2 by 21:00 will it already be very dark? It will be dark yes. I got there at 19:50 and it was already very deep dusk, but just so that I did not need my lights. When I left it was dark. I'm trying to bum a lift for two road-bike rims located in Centurion. (only rims, not a wheelset) If possible, drop me a PM. Thanks. Disco man Posted December 16, 2017 Share Seems like it was a tuff year nobody commented anything! This was was not to be my 3 solo, started to feel sick at CP2 water point, sat there for a few minutes but soon realized that I’m not he only one person who were not 100%, cycled through to CP3 rest there for an while and tried again, but by the time I got to the water point I hade nothing left in my stomach and everything that did go in came out almost immediately! So had to call it a day, but will be back next year.
