I agree its a great ride, but not for R 330 when I can do it anytime for free.............unless you want to race it and not just ride it.

Hi Victor

What is the difference between the 95km and 105km, besides an additional 10km (to pre-empt any smart a$$es).

I assume there are some tough(er) climbs on the 105?

The difference is a hectic 5km downhill to the shebeen and 250m climbing back up;with loose gravel, rock and ditches.........

95 turns around at the top of Breedts, 105 5 km further at the shebeen (not Saxonwold, but the other one)

If its the same as last year, the 95 turns around at the top of Breedts, while the 105 continues down to the shebeen before turning around.  So that extra 10km basically gives you an extra climb

Surely we are loosing sight of what cycling is about,R300 to race for a purse of???? R300 for a ride offering a few water points, of which we never use. Some folk are on a quick road to making cash.

You are welcome not to enter and also welcome to start your own race to make some quick cash.

I will use the event to get a very different experience of the Breedts ride and appreciate the effort the race organisers put in (which is a lot for a small if any return)

Racing for a purse? Are you a pro? Ask your sponsor to pay for your entry. As Eddy said, feel free to give it a miss.

so just for my understanding, is the route gravel road all the way to Breedts neck and back with the last 6km being the river trail?

Yes .There is a nice piece of single track in between also .Last 6km with heavy legs and a head wind for the last hour ,you ride 6km of Van gaalen,s river trail .Don,t try and keep up with the roadies in the first hour or so if you are not use to road cycling ,it will cost you on the way back
