How long should you wait after "the snip" asking for a friend.

Also wanting to know, for a friend

1 DNS , Nissan Trailseeker , Dislocated collarbone from the week before.

4 DNF 1 Was sick in the 1997 Vasbyt so did not want to start but was talked into it , after 10 km I wanted to stop but kept on going, in the end stopped and got of the bike at 100km due to thinking I would get to the finish line faster , however then was in sweeper vehicle behind last person.

Kempton Park Cycle challenge in around 1997/8 . Bolt holding my saddle just snapped at 70 km , which meant I would have had to stand the last 40 km, was not really happy as it was 1h30 min into the race and we were only around 20 in the bunch and I was feeling really good.

2003 94.7 Challenge    - Chain snapped messing up rear derailleur

2015 94.7 Involved in crash at 12km going down at 84km/h , breaking saddle.

But I have done 150 plus races so I guess it is not to bad.

With that track record would not even insure my bikes :P

Been very lucky, couple of falls on MTB races but no serious injuries yet and no DNF's

DNS...yes a couple.

One was because of a beeeeeg night before the race

Second one was due to sickness, drove halfway to the start but felt worse than when I woke up so turned around

I wanted to ride my bicycle 3 days after, Doc and wife wouldn't let me. Even when I said to the wife "What's the worst that can happen, a bit of swelling" she didn't find it funny.

As for the other riding none for a week, then its open season for 6 weeks to clean everything out. Wife didn't believe me, but a actually got the doctor to give me a medical note. The look on her face was priceless.

1 x DNS. A very windy One Tonner, did not even get out of bed on raceday...

3 x DNF

1x Road race, involved in a crash, bike damaged.

2 x MTB, both due to medicals, back spasms. (does being old and unfit qualify as a medical?  :whistling: )

No DNF's

I have had a few DNS's when circumstances presented that I could not make the event...only one inexcusable DNS and that was Hill2Hill a few years back. It literally rained for 5 days solid before the event and I knew it was going to be an absolute mudfest...so that morning I chose to cuddle up to my wife instead

There's a whole thread around here with a lot of info and scary pics.  I got a lot of info from there.

Doc said 7 days.

Did a ride on day 7 and rublestrips was a bit of a no-go zone but otherwise not a problem in the world.

Got it done a day after DC.  heheheheh.

So no DNS on that note.  ;)

The only DNF that I could remember in my 22 years (and there might be one or two more) was back in the day when the 94.7 was 200km for the Elites and I popped around 120km.  Got a lift on the sweeper bakkie back home.

I went for 30 days' open season.

She fell for it.

1x DNS - USN race at Modderfontein, bailed after it had poured with rain for the entire week leading up to the race.

1x DNF - Magalies Monster, had a bit of a stomach bug the night before was feeling ok on the morning of the race but I was too scared to eat anything so I decided to bail on the 67km and just do the 33km surviving on energade. Managed to finish the 33km though, so that was good :) Had a fun OTB in a rock garden about 20km in that left me with bruises down my entire left side for a few weeks which was less good :(

I missed only one.

Was Oyster festival 2 years ago. Got to Knysna the Thursday, started feeling fluish the Friday and on the Saturday before the race I bailed out wit a fever of 39.
