Any idea if that crash is before or after qualifiers?

And I wonder what Gwin messaged him about

Apparently his last practice run before quali runs

No idea. But pretty cryptic from Gwin...sounds panicked

Looks like the bike broke after his crash. The bike hit a rock and split

Bike broke when it hit a wooden post.

As you say, bike hit a rock, lost traction, then grabbed again and ejected him stage left, OTB and then the bike hit the post side-on, at the weakest spot of the frame in a place that isn't designed for that sort of impact. Another vid of it will be up from the same guy who did that walk and analysis - Ben Cathro.

ya agreed about the front washing. But not cause it hit a rock. I think it just hit the deck at the right angle to slip in that dust, pretty much the same way Eleonora Farini slipped out in the next few frames.

Either way, he is lucky he didn't break his legs what with them all tangled up in the frame like that during the crash.

Hannah putting some margins into the ladies. She's been quietly looking very very potent this year, but that proto-magic seems to having a very positive effect. She looks composed from the few clips of her during practice, very Rachel-like.

at first I thought the same, but then I saw a slight discolouration on the rock after his wheel hit it. Agreed that the soft dirt after didn't help, but I could swear the rock caused it.

Ah - no - you're right, and I was right as well, initially.

Here's a screen grab. No deflection from the rock. Must have been when he landed.

greg said you were right: was a rock that caused the wash. and yes, he mentioned your name Myles. :D

however, VitalMTB forensic photography shows the wheel slip by dust evidence
