Good looking bikes. Are they still specced with Swiss cheese components?

For Fox sake luckily not anymore ... Rock Shox and Fox now!

Sooo what is different between 2017 and 2018 ( frame and geo) ?

Just colors and few tweaks on drive trains components? Ie 940 used to be xt now shram...

Strictly referring to the 2018 Scale 940: as for frame and geometry, I cannot see a difference except for the colour of course. It also still uses a Shimano groupset (not SRAM). The Scale 935 downwards to the 910 uses SRAM.

One difference I did notice is the boost hub on the rear. The 2017 Scale 940 does not have a boost hub. The 2018 model also uses a different fork, FOX 32 Float Rhythm instead of a FOX 32 Float Performance Air as on the 2017 model.

Scott Spark RC 900 Pro

hold the phone, Scott's tagline is "No Shortcuts"? I'm immediately thinking of a certain Scott rider who got penlaised for cutting corners at the Epic a few years back, whoopsie daisy.

Bikes look pretty legit though, and having both Olympic champs on them can't hurt either.

Spark 940 2017 vs 2018 I actually see a downgrade... from fox dropper to the syncros dropper that used to be on the 950.

Now a 1x11 sram vs the previous 2x11 xt

Where did you see that? The pic in Tankman's post shows GX Eagle and Fox 34 (not sure which one)

Looks like Scott is on the cheap and digging up old Giant pictures and making them look a little different..

I swear these look like 2013 and 2014 Giant trances and Anthems

Surely cajees has some framesets lying around at half price and we can put a rear shock on upside down for coolness.

Maybe they going for mild retro... i dunno, maybe Im missing a marketing detail
