  1. Tacx flow, one bolt missing from frame. Display still functional. Collection in Durbanville
  2. Good route and waterpoints on the 100km route. 'Goodie bag' was a brown envelope with the number board. Booked the R500 shuttle service which was a disaster, had to find a lift back to the start to go fetch my car when it was clear at 17:00 that the organizer completely mismanaged the process. Getting a refund will be a painful process by the look of things. The above and it's just too far from Cape Town to make the effort again unfortunately.
  3. I would suggest dry top layers if not already covered in earlier posts. I did not have any in my box at CP1 and it felt like riding with a block of ice on my back, especially after spending time at the fire 🙈
  4. Interesting, also looking forward to the info
  5. 7-12hrs will give you a solid base. A mix of trails (Red barn, Northern farm, Wolwespruit etc) and maybe a block of threshold intervals will set you up for a very comfortable ride.
  6. I've entered and it will be my first 70.3. Thanks for all the advice in the thread on training, pacing, transitions etc etc. I am not a strong swimmer and will need stroke correction and coaching. Any recommendation of a swim school that caters for adults in Durbanville please? Also, any recommendation of a good multisport club to join? Thanks
  7. +1 on the older generation, bullet proof. My wife have the newer gen with bluetooth and battery life is less than the old gen.
  8. You agreed to the rules and regulations when you signed up for the club membership. Now conveniently want to decide what is relevant of those agreed rules and regulations. Tsk tsk, your word - no big deal.
  9. Shimano XT Cassette (CS-M8000) 11-46, ICSM8000146 (easybike.co.za)
  10. 26er rims - Giant decals Mechanical disc brakes, with 8speed shifter combo Getting rid off, collection Durbanville
  11. I've joined the hub in the 'old' days and found it plagued by users reveling in their anonymity and happily fueling a toxic environment. Almost all threads were riddled with knobs being knobs and were freely allowed to sour up the place. Never been a community and just like any other social media environment. I like and support the stand against certain behavior, good riddance.
  12. I try to enjoy at least one stage race per year and the main driver was to experience trails that I cannot easily get to. I did not repeat an event and the epic was on the list and had a good portion of savings accumulated for it. We immigrated to CPT beginning 2018 and i completed J2C that year. And that was the last one simply because one can ride amazing trails across the Western Cape at your leisure from your front door. Used the savings for weekend getaways with the family across the province. That said, I will do the W2W switchback due to the awesome trails purposely built for the event.
  13. Hi All, I have two entries available. Booked accommodation in Hartenbos and can only leave Cape Town at 16:30 due to work commitments. Cannot make the in-person registration in Oudtshoorn and be back in Hartenbos before curfew. Dryland is not willing to move the entries nor allow registration on Saturday morning despite the “we’re in this together communications”.
  14. Yes I do think Tiger would have become very close to the same golfer if he started swinging a decade later, with the same daddy and all. Under the thread titled training for kids did not give sexual deviancy any thought. Tiger's character and morals is not much of interest under this topic imo.
  15. There is enough pressure during adulthood, children just needs to be loved and supported to grow into happy positive people. If they are naturally gifted, they will automatically shine and with your support have fun and achieve at the same time. With your aspirations, goals etc heaped on their shoulders ... shaky foundation. (Discipline, manners, etc etc not specifically included nor excluded in the above as the manual for raising perfect superstar children was accidently forgotten in my unicorn's saddlebag ????) Have a great weekend
  16. Hooray for the sound of ....... silence! Seems April was a bad month for the challenge
